🔒 12-MONTH PRICE LOCK: the rate you sign at is your rate for at least a year. If list prices ever change, existing customers keep theirs for 12 months from that day.

Why we publish a flat number instead of a per-pool fee

Skimmer's published pricing charges $1-2 per pool once you go past the first 49 (Getting Started: $49/mo base + $1/mo per pool over 49; Scaling Up: $98/mo base + $2/mo per pool over 49 — getskimmer.com/pricing, snapshot 2026-07-11). That means the bill grows every time you add a stop, on top of any list-price increase. PoolTechDesk charges one flat number per business regardless of how many bodies of water you're servicing.

What that looks like at different team sizes

Using Skimmer's own published formula against three profiles:

ProfilePoolTechDeskSkimmer (effective)Difference
Solo, ~60 pools$59/mo (Starter)$60/mo (Getting Started, no route optimization)~2% less, and route optimization is included
3 techs, ~250 pools$179/mo (Growth)$500/mo (Scaling Up: $98 + 201 × $2)64% less
8 techs, ~700 pools$349/mo (Pro)$1,400/mo (Scaling Up: $98 + 651 × $2)75% less

Skimmer figures calculated from its own published per-pool formula, snapshot 2026-07-11 — see the full comparison for sourcing. Skimmer's Getting Started tier doesn't include route optimization at any pool count; Scaling Up does. Verify current Skimmer pricing directly on their site before relying on it.

We built PoolTechDesk the other way around: the price on this page is the price in your invoice, and it's locked for a year the day you sign up. If we change list prices later, that change doesn't touch your account until your 12 months are up — and we'll tell you before it does.

What happens if my team grows mid-season

Upgrade from Starter to Growth (or Growth to Pro) in a couple of clicks, any time. You're billed the difference for the rest of your current cycle, and your new plan's price gets its own 12-month lock starting from the day you upgrade.

Billing questions

Straight answers, no fine print you have to hunt for.

Is pricing per pool or per month?

Per month, flat, per business. Adding pools, spas or other bodies of water to an existing customer doesn't change your bill — there's no per-pool fee on any plan.

Is route optimization included, or an add-on?

Included on Starter, Growth and Pro. We don't charge extra for it and we don't gate it behind a higher tier.

What does the 12-month price lock actually mean?

The rate you sign up at is guaranteed for at least 12 months from your signup date. If we ever raise list prices, your existing subscription keeps the old rate until your 12-month lock expires — you get advance notice before any change applies to you.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?

Yearly billing is paid upfront for 12 months and works out to roughly 14-17% less per month than paying monthly — for example Starter drops from $59/mo to $49/mo. Features are identical either way; only the billing cadence and discount change.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade any time and you're charged the difference pro-rata for the rest of your billing cycle. Downgrade at your next renewal date. Your 12-month price lock carries over to the new plan at the new plan's locked rate.

Is there a free trial, and do I need a credit card?

Every plan includes a free 14-day trial with no credit card required. You pick a plan and enter payment details only when you're ready to continue past the trial.

How do extra users get billed?

Each plan includes a set number of users. Add more at a fixed rate — $15/mo on Starter, $18/mo on Growth, $22/mo on Pro — billed on the same cycle as your plan. That per-user rate is locked along with your plan price.

Will PoolTechDesk tell my techs how much chemical to add?

No. Chemical readings are a log of what was measured, not a dosing calculator — we're not chemists, so we don't give dosing advice. See the chemical readings feature page for details.
